Ted Drewes Frozen Custard

Ted Drewes a frozen custard shop in St. Louis, Missouri is Number 37 on the Travel Channel’s official list of “101 Best Places to Chow Down.”  While with a carnival, Ted began making his famous frozen custard. The original St. Louis shop on Natural Bridge Road began serving in 1930, but closed in 1958. Currently, the Chippewa Street shop is open much of the year, the South Grand Boulevard location is open in summer. Both locations are extremely popular during the spring and summer months, and are a tradition for many after attending St. Louis Cardinals baseball games.

Unlike some other frozen custards, Ted Drewes offers only one flavor, vanilla, and adds other flavorings and toppings as ordered.

The shop is best known for its specialty called "concrete", custard blended with any combination of dozens of ingredients, served in a large yellow cup with a spoon and straw.
