Since the early 1990's Tony Luke Jr. worked tirelessly with his Father Tony Sr. and brother Nick to build the Tony Luke's legend. From lunch trucks to full Italian meal take-out, they tried it all until they hit on the TONY LUKE's Old Philly Style Sandwich formula that took enormous culinary leaps beyond the famous Philly Cheesesteak.

After literally building the original South Philly TONY LUKE's steak shop brick by brick, shoulder to shoulder, Tony Sr. and his sons Tony Jr. and Nicky opened in 1992. The buzz started almost immediately. This was not just another cheesesteak joint.

The TONY LUKE's sandwich menu was rich in variety...Italian Roast Pork w/ Sharp Provolone & Broccoli Rabe, Chicken or Veal Cutlet w/ Spinach or Broccoli Rabe, even a now legendary Greens Sandwich with Spinach, Broccoli Rabe and Sharp Provolone on a signature TONY LUKE's fresh home baked roll.

Over the years TONY LUKE's has been hailed for quality and innovation by Gourmet Magazine, New York Times, Washington Post, GQ Magazine, Zagat’s Guide, Food Network , NBC, FOX, CBS, ABC TV and scores of other media -- Tony Luke's redefined the Philly Sandwich experience with specialty favorites like their Roast Pork Italian, Chicken Cutlets with Broccoli Rabe & Sharp Provolone.

TONY LUKE's profile has been raised to national stature by Tony Luke Jr. 's appearances on Throwdown with Bobby Flay, Dinner Impossible, The Best Thing I Ever Ate, Food Wars on the Food TV Network, Andrew Zimmer Bizarre Foods and Man vs. Food on the Travel Channel, and The Food Dude on Spike TV, as well as literally thousands of TV appearances and radio, print and online media interviews ranging from the New York Times to World Wrestling News.

In 2009, for the third consecutive year TONY LUKE's was named the Best Sandwich in Major League Baseball by FOOD Network TV and the The New York Times, leaving no doubt that TONY LUKE's is among America's all-time favorite sandwiches.

Today the family brand continues to grow with a new line of TONY LUKE’s Pronto frozen foods in supermarkets, and free-standing quick serve shops in retail and business centers, casinos, sports and entertainment venues throughout the US and around the world.
